MANUEL GIACOMETTI WAS BORN IN TREVISO ON JULY 1, 1976. HIS PASSION FOR ART DEVELOPED IN EARLY AGE THROUGH THE DISCOVERY OF STREET ART, WHICH TRANSFORMED GIACOMETTI “JAKO” INTO A WRITER. THE PASSAGE FROM A FORM OF PERSONAL ART TO A MORE PUBLIC FORM HAPPENS IN JANUARY OF 2010, WHEN, AFTER INVADING HIS PRIVATE HOME SPACES WITH PAINTINGS, HE FINALLY DECIDES TO CONSIGN HIS FIRST WORKS TO PUBLIC’S JUDGMENT. HE STARTS TO EXHIBIT AT THE MAIN LOCATION IN THE TREVISO’S PROVINCE, GAINING IMMEDIATELY GREAT SUCCESS. HE ALSO PARTICIPATES TO ART’S COMPETITIONS, RANKING AMONG THE FIRST POSITIONS. HIS TECHNIQUE IS SPRAY PAINT ON WOOD AND THE SUBJECTS ARE MAINLY IMAGES OF COMMON PEOPLE, WHICH HE REINTERPRETS IN HIS PERSONAL WAYS. HIS WORKS ARE MAINLY BLOW-UPS, ON FIXED OR MOVABLE SURFACES, SUCH AS FRAMED WOOD OR PRIVATE HOMES’ WALLS. IN GIACOMETTI’S IMAGES, THE COMMON TRAITS BECOME DEFINING CHARACTERS OF ART WORKS THAT EXPRESS SINGULARITY. GIACOMETTI’S WORK IS AN ABSOLUTELY PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW, WHICH REPRESENTS THE PRESENT TIME, THE “HERE AND NOW;” IT ALSO REPRESENTS A PERSONAL VISION OF REALITY THAT, BECAUSE OF THE MEANING OF REALIZATION, IT IS ALSO A GENERALIZATION OF REALITY.
