What is “Stop Killing Games”? “Stop Killing Games” is a movement that advocates against the shutdown or cancellation of online games—especially those purchased by players—without offering proper alternatives or compensation.
Often, developers or publishers discontinue games due to lack of profitability or the end of technical support, leaving players without access to titles they’ve invested time, money, and emotional energy into.
The movement argues that players deserve transparency and accountability, and that games should remain available for a reasonable period of time. If closure is unavoidable, fair solutions—such as refunds or alternative access—should be provided.
Although there are no specific laws protecting players in this regard, “Stop Killing Games” seeks to raise awareness and encourage ethical practices within the gaming industry.
