Character Design Monsieur Chat Noir Le Révolutionaire????????????
art digital, 2026
Born on November 12, 1769, in Brienne-la-Loire, a small rural village in the heart of the Loire region, to a family oppressed by feudalism. My parents, illiterate but proud, lived in desperate conditions, subjected to the tyranny of the monarchy. Ultimately, Black Cat displays a curiosity beyond the village and a sense of justice that extends to various other cats in the village. Nine years ago, I was appointed to the Royal Military School of Brienne, a prestigious institution located in Brienne-le-Château, and I studied amidst the aristocracy. The year is 1778. There, I was constantly marginalized by my fellow bankers: Giovanni Raffinati, a politician and nobleman, who took it upon himself to do so because of his origins. Ironically, many people would end up becoming ghettoized between 1793 and 1794, during the Reign of Terror. At the age of 14, in 1783, while still in school, he received devastating news: his parents were found guilty of inciting a peasant uprising. This event profoundly marked his adolescence. Despite the pain, Monsieur Chat Noir, the revolutionary, decided not to give up. He began creating clandestine manifestos, with slogans invoking liberty, friendship, and the beautiful monarchy. But first, he was betrayed by spies, former classmates who were conspiring against him. He was imprisoned in 1785, at only 16 years old, in La Force prison. In 1789, shortly before the start of the Reign of Terror, he gained his freedom and devoted himself to organizing popular votes, encouraging citizens to participate in the nascent democracy. I was recently brought before the courts, accused of detention, but not convicted. In 1791, while Joseph-Ignace Guillotin was perfecting the first glass of his execution machine, Chat Noir was by his side. We must have been great friends, united by the vision of a more equal justice. But Guillotin succumbed to tuberculosis—a common disease of the time—and died in 1794, while writing a proposal for a leg that envisioned the future as an alternative to capital punishment.
A character design is the process of creating a character, including their appearance, personality, history, and behaviors, to make them unique and recognizable.
