Napoleon has always been seen as a bloodthirsty beast by his English rivals and opponents, whereas within his own armies he was universally beloved for being caring and paternal toward his troops.

What is a "Fursona"?
If you're new to the term, a "fursona" is a fictional animal persona with human-like traits. We are talking speech, complex emotions, or even specific jobs, much like the clumsy "Redcoat" soldier featured in this project. Think of it as a creative avatar for self-expression, or a fun, unique lens to reimagine iconic figures.
Overview:
?In the musical, George Washington is portrayed as the towering, dignified, and authoritative leader of the Continental Army who later becomes the first President of the United States. Originally brought to life on Broadway by Christopher Jackson, Washington is the moral and emotional anchor of the show—balancing immense political pressure with deep personal integrity.
?Key Character Traits? The Burden of Leadership:
Washington acutely feels the weight of history on his shoulders. He understands that every choice he makes will shape the future of a brand-new nation.
?Wisdom and Pragmatism:
Unlike the hotheaded and ambitious younger revolutionaries, Washington is cautious, patient, and strategic. He teaches Hamilton that "winning is easy, young man, governing is harder."?Dignity and Grace: He carries himself with a commanding presence that demands respect from everyone in the room, seamlessly blending military strictness with profound empathy.
?Relationship with Alexander Hamilton:
?Washington quickly recognizes Hamilton’s brilliant mind and unmatched writing skills, taking him on as his aide-de-camp and right-hand man.
?Father Figure: Beyond a professional partnership, Washington acts as a surrogate father to the orphaned Hamilton, who is constantly seeking approval and legacy.
?The Voice of Reason:
Washington frequently has to check Hamilton’s hubris, warning him to "talk less, smile more" and advising him on the dangers of letting his pride overrule his judgment.
?Key Musical Moments:
?"History Has Its Eyes on You": A poignant moment where Washington shares his own early military mistakes with Hamilton, showing his vulnerability and the heavy responsibility of leadership.?"One Last Time": One of his most defining numbers, highlighting his historic decision to step down after two presidential terms to ensure a peaceful transition of power and prevent tyranny.
The painting belongs to the British School of the 18th century, which means that the author is anonymous, despite being part of the British pictorial tradition of the time. The painting is part of the collections of the Royal Museums Greenwich / National Maritime Museum in London.
About the "British School"
Context: The designation "British School" refers to an unidentified painter active in Britain during the 18th century.
Style: The portrait reflects the mid-18th-century English portraiture traditions popularized by artists like Thomas Hudson, characterized by formal poses, detailed naval uniforms, and smooth studio illumination set against plain backgrounds or painted ovals.
Biography: Captain Justinian Nutt (1700–1757)
Early Career & Voyage Round the World: Nutt served as Master aboard HMS Centurion during Commodore George Anson's famous circumnavigation of the globe (1739–1744). In June 1743, following the capture of the wealthy Spanish treasure galleon Nuestra Señora de Covadonga, Anson promoted him to Third Lieutenant.
Naval Commands: He reached the rank of Post-Captain in August 1745. Over his career, he commanded several ships including the 22-gun frigate Grand Turk, the 50-gun Tavistock, and the 64-gun ship of the line HMS Anson.
Later Years: In 1754, he was appointed as one of the four Captains of the Royal Hospital for Seamen at Greenwich, a prestigious position he held until his death in December 1757.
