Gaetano De Luca

Formazione

[ ENGLISH VERSION ]

Gaetano De Luca was born in 5 October 1955 at Casoria a providence of Naples. From an early age he shows his inclination to art embracing painting, a path he will follow even during his adolescence. The love for nativity scene is born in those years thanks to the sensibility of a priest who will show him the way to knowing this noble art. Gaetano De Luca starts working on wood and gradually masters the techniques necessary for the initial phases of elaborating a nativity scene. Techniques he brings along with him throughout the years and he refines. Even though life rearranges his priorities after a period of working on an entirely different field without ever abandoning his passion, he takes up the role of artisan and dedicates body and soul to his passion. He succeeds in stimulating this tension towards the sublime grandiosity of the art of nativity scene, creating pieces of art of unique beauty with respect to the detail. Decades have passed, during which he works intensively on this field, a course with numerous prizes and acknowledgements (expositions in Naples, Rome, Campania, Basilicata, ) that have established his competence and professionalism as an artisan of the nativity scene art.

At the time being the artistic production of Arte Presepiale De Luca – which through the years has turned into a solid professional activity- is intense and manages to satisfy not only the internal request but also that beyond the national boundaries.
His participation at Corea at Christmas Fair not only did it bring his professionalism to an international level and helped his identification as a protagonist highly appreciated by thousands of visitors of this exhibition but also created important commercial relations.
All artworks of Gaetano De Luca are products of high quality that recreate the authentic tradition of the nativity scene of ‘700. Wood, suberin, musk and shepherds of terracotta exactly as tradition requires. Although the very adhesive material of a beautiful nativity scene remains the passion, dedication and hard work, things I wish you’ll find in this website.
