It.ero un giovane innamorato dell'arte di 21 anni in questa prima epoca pittorica in cui dipinsi questa tela dal vero all'aperto. Ero ospite per alcuni mesi estivi in quella parrocchia qui raffigurata, dove sul balcone si aprono quelle imposte di legno gialle io dormivo e cucinavo i miei pasti solitari. Il paesino è Rochemelles frazione di Bardonecchia Torino, su quelle alture proprio davanti a questo paesello passa la strada più alta di europa.
