The red — lacquered, glossy, seductive — becomes an ambiguous color: it evokes power, blood, ideology, but also reclamation and control.
History is not erased, but reduced to matter, to object, to a surface that can be stepped on. The work stages a reversal: what once oppressed is now under the weight of a living, present, conscious body.
It is not oblivion, but judgment.Not provocation, but a position taken.
