A contemporary art installation with a striking visual and conceptual impact, fusing a gothic, decadent, and symbolic aesthetic.
The piece is a material assembly mounted on a rigid, rectangular black base, enriched with inserts of raw burlap fabric that evoke a sense of earth, memory, and lost time.
The visual centerpiece is an open antique book with deeply browned, worn, and burnt edges, as if torn from a fire or forgotten in the humidity of a forgotten crypt. Among the consumed pages stands out a black patent leather stiletto heel pump, tapered and diabolical in its sharp elegance, which seems to trample knowledge itself or emerge from it like a dark fetish.
Next to the volume, resting on the pages, lies a vintage sphygmomanometer with its clearly visible analog dial and dark green rubber tubes meandering through the paper like poison ivy.
The juxtaposition between the medical instrumental a symbol of clinical control, heartbeat, and the fragility of life and the unsettling sensuality of the black shoe creates a powerful emotional short circuit, suspended between Eros and Thanatos, passion and cold diagnosis.
